Item details Materials, dimensions, what is in the box

LED wall art that lights the wall instead of the room: a long backlit panel with a slim ledge and a clear glass bud vase, sized for the space above a sofa or a bed.

The face is finished in a fine stone texture over a wood body, so the surface catches light the way plaster does rather than reading as printed board. Built-in LEDs wash up and down onto the wall behind the panel, leaving a soft halo and a floating shadow gap under the frame.

As above sofa wall decor it does two jobs at once, which is why buyers choose wall art with led over a print plus a lamp. It sits comfortably in japandi, wabi-sabi, warm minimalist, modern organic and mid-century rooms, and the two colourways (Sage, Tan) are matched to neutral walls rather than fighting them. As japandi wall art it stays quiet by day and becomes illuminated wall art after dark, a backlit wall panel rather than a picture with a light pointed at it.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about the materials, care and everyday use — no fine print.

Which size should I get: Small, Medium or Large?

Match the panel to the furniture below it and aim for the art to span roughly two thirds of its width. Small is 39.4 in (100 cm) wide, so it suits furniture about 59 in wide; Medium is 47.2 in (120 cm), for about 71 in; Large is 55 in (140 cm), for a sofa or bed about 83 in wide.

Is this real stone or a stone textured finish?

It is a stone textured painted finish over a wood body, not solid stone. That is why even the 55 in panel can hang on normal wall fixings. The texture is raised and catches raking light, so it reads as plaster rather than as a printed surface.

Does it plug into a normal US outlet?

Yes. It runs on the included adapter and works on 90-260V, so a standard US outlet is fine. No electrician and no hardwiring are needed, which is what makes this led wall art lighting practical in a rental.

How do I hide the power cord above a sofa?

Most buyers run the cord down the wall behind the sofa or use a paintable cord channel. The cord exits at the back edge of the panel. We show the cord honestly in one of the photos rather than styling it out.

Is the light bright enough to read by?

No, and it is not meant to be. It is ambient led wall decor that washes the wall behind it, similar to a bias light. Use it for evening atmosphere alongside a lamp, not as a replacement for task lighting.

Can I dim it?

This colourway does not have a dimmable option — the Plug-in and Battery light versions run at one fixed warm brightness, controlled by the included remote or the touch switch on the panel. Choose the No light option at checkout if you want the panel without any LED at all.

What is actually in the box?

The panel, the clear glass tube bud vase, a remote, a mains adapter and mounting hardware. The small figurine and the plants in we photograph are styling only and are not included.

How is it mounted and will it damage the wall?

It hangs on wall fixings sized for the panel, the same principle as a heavy framed picture. Into a stud or with the right anchor it is secure, and the fixing leaves a normal picture hook hole rather than a large cut.

How long does delivery take?

35 to 45 days. This piece ships from our warehouse by the free route, and we would rather tell you the real window than promise a week and miss it. Tracking is provided once it leaves the warehouse.

Can it go in a bathroom or outside?

No. It is rated for dry indoor rooms only. Steam and outdoor damp will get into the LED housing and the textured finish, and that is not covered by the three year warranty.

How do I clean the textured surface?

Dust it with a dry soft brush or a microfibre cloth. Do not use water or spray cleaners on the face, because the texture holds moisture and the paint finish can mark.

What is the warranty?

Three years on the LED and the panel from us. Contact us at thehouseland.com with your order number and photographs and we will handle the claim for you.

Is it a good pick for a rental, a studio or a small apartment?

Yes. It hangs on wall fixings the way a heavy framed picture does, and the Battery light version skips a cord entirely, so there is no wiring to touch. One panel can be the anchor piece of a rental or studio living wall instead of a gallery wall, and it also works as a dining room feature wall or behind a desk in a home office.

Which size suits a small apartment wall best?

The Small size, 39.4 in (100 cm) wide by 19.7 in (50 cm) tall, is the easiest fit for a compact room. It is wall mounted and self contained, so there is no separate lamp or table to find floor space for, and the built-in LED gives ambient light without adding a fixture to the ceiling.

What makes this Houseland piece worth buying over a plain panel?

Look at what is built in rather than added on. The face is a stone textured finish over a wood body, the LEDs and their up and down wall wash are integrated with no bulbs to buy, and control is by remote or a touch switch on the panel itself. Houseland backs it with a three year warranty on the LED and the panel.

Can it hang behind a bed as a headboard piece?

Yes. Behind a king or queen headboard is one of the spaces it is sized for, and the wall wash gives a soft glow at the edges of the bed rather than reading light. Choose the Battery light version if there is no outlet near the headboard wall, since it needs no cord to the panel at all.

How does it work as living room wall decor?

It is built to sit above a three seat sofa and fill a wide stretch of wall with a single piece instead of a gallery arrangement. After dark it becomes warm evening light in a TV room, washing the wall rather than lighting the seating area, so most people still keep a lamp on for reading nearby.

Is the LED unit electrically safe to leave plugged in?

It carries CE, UL, CQC and LVD certification and runs on 90-260V through the included adapter, so it is built for continuous use rather than a hobbyist wiring job. The panel is not dimmable, and that fixed circuit is part of what keeps the certification straightforward rather than adding extra control electronics.

What are the pros and cons of this stone-textured backlit panel?

This is not a wood and metal shelf: the face is a stone textured finish over a wood body, wall mounted and self contained. Pros: integrated LED with remote and touch control, no bulbs to buy, and a three year warranty. Cons: the light is not dimmable, the power cord stays visible unless it is routed behind the wall, and color and texture vary slightly between production runs.

Is it worth choosing over a plain print and a separate lamp?

For an above-sofa wall, it does two jobs a print cannot: it fills the wall and lights it after dark. The textured face also catches light like plaster rather than sitting flat like a printed board, so it keeps some presence even with the LED off.

Can I hang it above a console table in an entryway?

Yes, an entryway above a console is one of the spaces this panel is sized for. The ledge holds the included glass bud vase at entry height, and the wall wash reads as a welcoming glow rather than a bright light when guests walk in, since it is built for ambient use rather than task lighting.

What can I put in the bud vase on the ledge?

One stem, not a full arrangement. The included vase is a clear glass tube seated in the ledge; a single stem of eucalyptus or dried grass keeps the ledge simple and lets the textured panel and the light stay the focus of the wall.

Is this a calmer option than a picture ledge shelf?

It is meant as a calmer alternative to picture ledge shelves. Instead of stacking frames and objects along a ledge, one panel gives the wall texture, a single vase, and a built-in light, so there is less to arrange and less that can look cluttered over time.
