Sixteen codes, five sizes, and the letter tells you which
The picker offers A-01 through E-01 and nothing else. They are not sixteen colors. The letter is the size and the shape; the number is the colorway. Once you know that, this page becomes simple - and until you know it, there is no way to tell that A-01 is 120 x 85 cm and E-01 is 60 x 55 cm.
All sixteen are the same idea: a dark wood batten with fine cord slung below it in curves, so the piece reads as a drape rather than as a panel. The cord is fixed at both ends of every swag, which is why there is no loose fringe to comb and no hem to hang straight. What changes between the letters is how the curves are arranged.
We publish both and claim neither - it matters more here than usual, because a big macrame wall hanging at 120 cm is a lot of cord to be wrong about.

What you get
- One hanging, in the code you pick. Our second option axis reads "as shown" and has a single value - it decides nothing.
- A dark wood batten the full width of the piece, squared and stained, on every one of the sixteen.
- Looped cord, not fringe on the B, C and D shapes - each strand runs down and back up to the batten, so nothing hangs loose.
- Cut fringe on the A and E shapes, which hang as vertical panels with a scalloped top edge instead.
- Wooden beads threaded along the swags on the B shapes only.
- No fixings. None included, and the wider pieces want two.
Dimensions, by letter
Every one of the sixteen carries its own we drawing. All sixteen are below. Price tracks size here, which is not true everywhere in this collection.
| A · A-01 to A-05 | 120 x 85 cm. The largest, and the only shape that is a fringed panel with a scalloped top rather than a drape. Five colorways: olive, rust, teal and mustard, navy and turquoise, or cream and charcoal. |
|---|---|
| B · B-01 to B-04 | 100 x 60 cm, 710 g. Beaded swags - three deep curves with a line of pale beads following each. Blue, gray, green or rust. |
| C · C-01 and C-02 | 80 x 60 cm, 450 g. The smallest of the swag shapes and the plainest - no beads. Green, or sage with cream. |
| D · D-01 to D-04 | 100 x 70 cm. Asymmetric: the swags gather to one side so the deepest point sits off center. Rust, blue, green or gray. |
| E · E-01 | 60 x 55 cm. The smallest option in this page - a single V-shaped drape in cream with a green edge. |
| Wall needed | About 140 x 110 cm for an A, 120 x 85 for a B or D, 100 x 85 for a C, 75 x 75 for an E |
| Above a sofa | A three-seat sofa is 200-220 cm. An A covers about 60% of that, a B or D about half, a C about 40%. |
| Weight | Published for B (710 g) and C (450 g) only. The A, D and E shapes carry no weight figure anywhere. |

How to hang it
Two fixings on anything 100 cm or wider - which is the A, B and D shapes. A batten that long on one central hook rotates and sags in the middle. Set them well inside the ends, mark both, and check with a level before drilling. The C and E shapes are narrow enough for a single fixing.
Weight only exists for two of the five shapes, so where it is missing, err heavy: a 120 cm batten carrying this much cord is not a picture-hook object. Use wall plugs.
Hang the D shapes deliberately. They are asymmetric - the swags gather toward one side - so which way round you hang one changes the composition, and it should lean into the room rather than out of it. Decide before you drill; there is no reversing it afterward.
There is nothing to comb. Because the cord loops back to the batten on the B, C and D shapes, there are no loose ends to straighten and no creases to drop. Straighten any twisted swags by hand on arrival and they stay where you put them. Only the A and E shapes have cut fringe, and those need one pass with your fingers.

Picking a code
For a big empty wall, the A shapes. 120 x 85 cm, a scalloped top edge and long vertical fringe below it in blocks of color. It is the only shape here with a graphic silhouette rather than a soft one, and it is the one that holds a wall on its own. A-03 (teal and mustard) and A-04 (navy and turquoise) are the loudest; A-05 (cream and charcoal) is the neutral.
For texture without a statement, the B shapes. 100 x 60 cm with beads following each swag. The beads are what make this shape read from a distance - without them a plain drape is almost invisible on a pale wall, which is the C shape's weakness.
For a small wall, C or E. C is 80 x 60 cm and plain; E is 60 x 55 cm and the smallest thing in this page. Both are quiet. Neither will carry a large room on its own.
For an off-center wall, the D shapes. The asymmetry is the point: a drape that gathers to one side works above a sofa that is not centered, beside a doorway, or on a wall with a light switch in the wrong place.

Where this actually earns its place
Above a sofa or a sideboard, which is what we photograph almost exclusively. A drape echoes the horizontal of the furniture below without repeating its rectangle, and at 100 to 120 cm the A, B and D shapes cover the proportion interior photography uses by default.
Second, above a desk or a console in a room that is otherwise plain. The B shapes in particular add texture and a line of catchlight without adding color, which is what boho wall decor has to do in a workspace.
Third, the awkward wall: off-center, interrupted, or too small for anything framed. The D shapes solve the first, and the C and E shapes solve the last. As large wall hanging options go, this piece is unusual in covering both ends of that range under one set of codes.
Honest limits
- The codes hide the sizes. A-01 is 120 x 85 cm and E-01 is 60 x 55 cm - a difference of a factor of three in area - and nothing in the picker says so. The chart above is the only way to choose properly.
- On a 120 cm piece that is a lot of material to be unsure about, and no percentage exists either way.
- Weight is published for two shapes out of five. B is 710 g and C is 450 g. A, D and E have no weight figure anywhere, which matters when A is the biggest thing here.
- The second option axis is dead. "Size: as shown" has one value and decides nothing. The real size is encoded in the letter.
- It is not macrame. There is no knotwork on any of the sixteen. Cord is looped over a bar or hung as fringe; the craft fields saying knit and knitted are no closer.
- The D shapes cannot be reversed. Asymmetric means you commit to a direction when you drill.
- Hand wash is our instruction for a piece fixed to a stained wooden batten. We report it and would spot clean instead.

What do the codes mean?
The letter is the size and shape, the number is the colorway. A is 120 x 85 cm (fringed panel, scalloped top), B is 100 x 60 cm (beaded swags), C is 80 x 60 cm (plain swags), D is 100 x 70 cm (asymmetric drape) and E is 60 x 55 cm. So A-03 and A-04 are the same object in different colors, while A-01 and C-01 are completely different sizes.
Which is the biggest and which is the smallest?
Biggest: any A code, at 120 x 85 cm. Smallest: E-01, at 60 x 55 cm. The price follows the size on this piece, which is not true of every product in the range.
How many fixings does it need?
Two for anything 100 cm or wider - the A, B and D shapes. One is enough for C (80 cm) and E (60 cm). Weight is only published for B and C, so on the others use wall plugs rather than picture hooks.
Is it cotton or polyester?
Unresolved. If natural fiber matters to you, ask before ordering.
Does the cord hang loose at the bottom?
Not on the B, C and D shapes - each strand loops down and back up to the batten, so both ends are fixed and there is nothing to comb or straighten. The A and E shapes are cut fringe and do need one pass with your fingers on arrival.
Which way round do the asymmetric ones hang?
Your choice, but make it before you drill. The D shapes gather their swags toward one side, so the deep point sits off center. Hang it so the weight leans into the room - toward the middle of a wall or toward a corner you want softened - rather than pointing out of the space.

Does it work with other art on the same wall?
It reads as texture rather than as a picture, so it sits beside framed prints without competing. Give it its own column of wall rather than a slot in a grid. Nothing in the picker says so, and every option is suffixed '/ As shown', which is the least informative phrase available.
What happens if it gets damp?
Cord holds damp and dries slowly. Keep it off a bathroom wall and away from a kettle or a shower door.
How is this different from a printed tapestry?

Is it safe over a radiator?
Keep it off a wall directly above a radiator or a heater. Above a three-seat sofa it spans about two thirds of the sofa; above an entry bench it is wider than the bench.
Will it arrive creased?

Is it easy to post on to someone else?
Yes. It is light and it folds, so it goes in a padded envelope or a small box without a frame to protect. It is photographed in an entryway above a bench.
Can it be hung outdoors for a day?
For a dry day under cover, yes. It is not rated for weather and damp cord takes a long time to dry, so it should not be left out overnight. 100% Polyester.
How much wall does it actually cover?
Judge it from the lifestyle photographs against the furniture, not from the studio shot on a plain ground, which flattens the scale. Every option is suffixed '/ As shown' and no option publishes a size.

A-01 / As shown. A series: olive green, terracotta, teal with mustard, navy with turquoise, charcoal gray. There is a real system underneath: the letter is the silhouette and the number is the colorway.
