Item details Materials, dimensions, what is in the box

The picker just says A, B, C or D

No color name, no swatch description, nothing. Four letters, and two of the four are shades of green close enough that a thumbnail will not tell them apart. This page exists to fix that before you order: A is mustard ochre, B is deep olive green, C is soft sage green, D is undyed cream, and every one of the four is photographed and measured below.

What you are choosing between is a cloud wall decor piece built in two parts: a solid, dark stained wood panel cut into a cloud silhouette, mounted flat with no visible fixings, and a dense curtain of straight cotton cord hanging from its underside like rain. Every cord carries a few small tight knots at random heights down its length, which is what reads as raindrops rather than a plain fringe.

It is part of the boho nursery theme our own staging leans on - a cot, a kids' reading corner, a soft guest room - but nothing about the construction ties it to a nursery specifically. It works anywhere a narrow, tall accent piece is the shape a wall needs.

What you get

  • One hanging, in the color you pick. Photographs showing two or three colors together are showing how they pair, not what ships in one order.
  • A cloud-shaped wood panel in a dark walnut stain, the same panel across all four colors - only the cord changes.
  • A dense curtain of straight cord mounted along the whole underside of the cloud, so the curtain is exactly as wide as the panel.
  • Small knots at random heights down each cord, which is the raindrop detail and the reason we call this a rain hanging rather than a plain fringe.
  • All four colors are the same size and weight - 30 cm wide, 85 cm long, 300 g - so the color you pick changes nothing about how much wall it needs.

Dimensions, and what they mean on your wall

We publish one size diagram per color, and all four carry identical numbers: 30 cm wide, 85 cm long, 300 g. This is not four different products at one size each - it is the same panel and the same length of cord in four colors, confirmed against all four of our own per-option drawings.

Width 30 cm / 11.8 in, all four colors
Length 85 cm / 33.5 in, all four colors
Weight 300 g, all four colors
Cloud panel Sets the 30 cm width; the cord curtain does not extend beyond it
Depth off the wall The panel is a flat cut board, so it sits close to the wall; the cord hangs free below it.

Our size diagram: all four colors measuring 30 cm wide by 85 cm long at 300 g each

At 85 cm long and only 30 cm wide, this reads as a single narrow column rather than a wide statement piece. Above a cot it sits at roughly cot-rail height in our own staging; above a double bed it is one narrow accent beside the headboard, not a piece meant to span it.

How to hang it

Close view of the dark stained wood cloud topper and cream cord fringe

A flat wood board this size and 300 g in weight is the kind of piece that typically hangs from a keyhole slot or a D-ring screwed to the back, but that is a reasonable expectation based on the construction, not a claim we make - check the back on arrival before you commit to a fixing.

Because the piece is narrow and tall, level the panel before drilling: a slight tilt is more visible on an 85 cm column than it would be on a wide piece. The cord curtain hangs free below the panel and needs no separate support - it is not load-bearing and carries no weight of its own beyond the cord.

No cleaning instruction is published. Treat it the way other knotted-cord pieces in this collection are treated: dust the cord with a soft brush or a vacuum on the lowest setting, wipe the wood panel dry, and do not wash the cord.

Picking a color

A - mustard ochre. A warm gold-brown, the boldest of the four. It reads as the most autumnal and pairs with terracotta, oak and clay tones.

B - deep olive green. A darker, more saturated green with a muted, almost khaki cast. The more grounded of the two greens.

C - soft sage green. A lighter, cooler green, visibly softer than B when the two are seen side by side - this is the pairing the picker gives you the least help distinguishing.

D - undyed cream. The quietest option, closest to raw cotton, and the one that disappears most into a neutral wall.

If you are choosing between B and C, look at them side by side rather than as thumbnails - at a glance both read simply as "green," and the picker gives no other clue.

Where this actually earns its place

A nursery or a kids' room first, which is our own primary staging - beside a cot, or in a reading corner. Nothing about the construction is nursery-specific, but the soft palette and the single narrow column suit a room that does not want a large or heavy piece on the wall.

Second, a guest bedroom or a small rental, above a nightstand rather than centered over the bed - the same narrow-column logic that applies throughout this macrame wall hanging collection. Third, a reading corner or a study, where a single quiet accent does more than a large piece would in a small space - this is where the boho nursery decor framing widens out to any small room that wants one calm object on the wall.

Honest limits

  • Our own product card, in a separate frame, names cotton and wood correctly, and that is the record we use.
  • The option names give you nothing to go on. A, B, C, D - no color, no swatch. Two of the four (B and C) are both green at different depths, and the picker does not distinguish them. Check the color guide above before you order.
  • What is likely - a keyhole slot or D-ring - is a reasonable expectation, not a claim we make.
  • All four colors are the same size. If you were expecting a size difference to go with the color choice, there isn't one - 30 x 85 cm and 300 g across the board.

Before you buy

What do the option letters actually mean?

A is mustard ochre, B is deep olive green, C is soft sage green, and D is undyed cream. The picker itself gives no color information, so this is the only place to check before ordering.

How big is it, and does that change by color?

30 cm wide by 85 cm long, 300 g - identical across all four colors, confirmed from each color's own size diagram. Picking a color does not change the size.

Is it really wicker?

No. Our own product card names the material as cotton and wood board, and that is what we use.

What comes with it to hang it up?

Nothing is confirmed. Check the back on arrival; a flat board this size and weight typically hangs from a keyhole slot or D-ring, but that is an expectation based on the construction, not a claim we make.

What is the difference between B and C?

Both are green, but B is a deeper, more saturated olive and C is a lighter, cooler sage. Side by side the difference is clear; as thumbnails in a color picker, it is not - which is exactly the problem this page exists to solve.

Is this actually meant for a nursery?

We stage it that way - beside a cot, in a kids' reading corner - but nothing about the construction is nursery-specific. Our own applicable-rooms list also names bedroom, study, living room, balcony and coffee shop.

How do I clean it?

No cleaning instruction is published. Dust the cord with a soft brush or a vacuum on the lowest setting, wipe the wood panel dry, and do not wash the cord - wetting knotted cord tightens the knots unevenly.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about the materials, care and everyday use — no fine print.

What do the option letters A, B, C and D mean?

They are the four cord colors: A is mustard ochre, B is deep olive green, C is soft sage green, and D is undyed cream. The picker itself carries no color information, so this is the only place to check before ordering.

How big is it?

30 cm wide by 85 cm long, weighing 300 g - identical across all four colors, confirmed from each color's own size diagram.

Does the size change depending on which color I pick?

No. All four colors are the same object at the same size and weight: 30 x 85 cm, 300 g. The color picker changes the cord color only.

Is it wicker?

No. Our own separate product card names the material as cotton and wood board, and that is the record we use here.

What is the wood panel made of?

A solid, flat-cut board in a dark walnut stain, cut into a cloud silhouette. Our product card lists wood alongside cotton as the two materials; no wood species is named.

What are the small bumps on the cord?

Small tight knots, tied at random heights down each strand. They are the raindrop detail - the reason we call this a rain hanging rather than a plain cut fringe.

What is the difference between B and C?

Both are green. B is a deeper, more saturated olive; C is a lighter, cooler sage. Side by side the difference is clear, but as small picker thumbnails they are easy to mix up - check the color guide before ordering.

Which color is the most neutral?

D, the undyed cream. It sits closest to raw cotton and blends into a neutral wall more than the other three, which are all dyed colors.

What do I need to hang it?

Not confirmed. No photograph shows the back of the panel, and no hanging hardware appears in our package-contents data. A flat board this size and weight typically hangs from a keyhole slot or D-ring, but that is a reasonable expectation based on the construction, not a claim we make - check the back on arrival.

How much does it weigh, for picking a wall fixing?

300 g for the full piece, including the wood panel and all the cord - the same across all four colors. That is light enough for most standard picture hooks, though the exact fixing point on the back is not shown in any photograph.

How do I clean it?

No cleaning instruction is published. Dust the cord with a soft brush or a vacuum on the lowest setting, wipe the wood panel dry, and do not wash the cord - wetting knotted cord tightens the knots unevenly.

Is it safe to hang near a crib?

Hang it well above a standing child's reach rather than close to a cot rail. No flame rating or safety certification is published for this piece, so we make no claim about either.

What should I hang beside a cot instead of a picture frame?

Something narrow and light rather than a wide framed piece. At 30 cm wide and 300 g, this sits beside a cot at roughly rail height in our own staging, rather than needing a large expanse of wall.

What wall decor works in a small guest bedroom?

A single narrow accent above a nightstand rather than a wide piece over the bed. At 30 x 85 cm this fills that role without needing the width a headboard piece would.

How is this different from a fringe wall hanging without the wood topper?

The wood cloud panel is rigid and sets the width of the whole piece at exactly 30 cm - the cord curtain cannot spread wider than the board it hangs from. A cord-only fringe piece, by contrast, is usually mounted on a dowel and can be styled slightly wider or narrower.

Do the four colors cost different amounts?

No. All four options are listed at the same price, since they are the same size, weight and construction in different cord colors.

Is this a good baby shower gift?

It ships as a finished piece needing one wall fixing, so there is nothing for the recipient to assemble. There is a color decision to make between four cords with very little picker guidance, so check the color guide above before choosing.

Will the cord fade in sunlight?

No light-fastness rating is published. Dyed cord - the mustard, olive and sage options - will shift in tone under direct sun over time more than the undyed cream option will.

Can I hang it without drilling?

Possibly, with a rated adhesive hook, given the light 300 g weight - but since the back of the panel and its fixing point are not shown in any photograph, test on a spare patch of wall before committing.

Why does the title mention rain?

The small tight knots along each cord, at random heights, are styled to read as raindrops falling from the wood cloud above them - hence 'rain cord' in the name, rather than a reference to any weatherproofing.
