Large Living Room Wall Decor, Single Deep U Swag in Five Colorways

Item details Materials, dimensions, what is in the box
The 200 cm on our drawing is not a width. It is the length of the curve
Two of the five option images carry a red dashed line traced around the outside of the U with "200cm / 78.74in" written on it. That is the distance along the curve - the path the cord takes from one batten, down around the bottom of the U and back up to the other. It is not the flat width of the piece and it is not how much wall it takes.
The other three option images carry the figures that actually matter: each batten is 40 cm / 15.7 in wide, and the piece drops 100 cm / 39.3 in. Those are the numbers to measure your wall against.
What you are hanging is a single deep U of banded cord slung between two short dark wood battens. The cord runs in flat vertical bands of two or three colors that stay parallel all the way around the curve, so the U reads as a ribbon with stripes rather than as a mass of fringe. It is large living room wall decor with one gesture in it and nothing else.

What you get
- One hanging, in the numbered option you pick. The options are colorways; all five are the same size.
- Two separate battens, each 40 cm wide, dark stained. They are not joined to each other - the cord is what connects them, and the gap between them is set by you.
- Banded cord. Flat vertical stripes of two or three colors running the length of the curve, not blended and not woven into a pattern.
- No loose ends. Every strand starts on one batten and finishes on the other, so there is no fringe hem and nothing to comb straight.
- No fixings. None included, and this piece needs at least two.
Dimensions, and the number that misleads
Three of the five option drawings are dimensioned properly; two carry only the curve length. Both are below so you can see the difference.
| Batten width | 40 cm / 15.7 in each. There are two of them. |
|---|---|
| Drop | 100 cm / 39.3 in from the battens to the lowest point of the U |
| The 200 cm figure | The length of the cord's path around the curve, marked with a dashed line on two of the option images. Not a width, and not a wall measurement. |
| Batten spacing | In our photographs the two battens sit roughly 20-30 cm apart with one slightly lower than the other. |
| Total width on the wall | About 100-110 cm with that spacing: two 40 cm battens plus the gap. Our arithmetic, not a figure. |
| Wall needed | About 125 x 130 cm, allowing air at the sides and below the curve |
| Material | Polyester and cotton. A blend, with no percentage. |

How to hang it
The spacing is the design decision. The two battens are separate, so how far apart you fix them sets how deep and how wide the U hangs. Closer together and the curve is narrow and deep; further apart and it flattens into a shallow arc. Our photographs sit around 20-30 cm apart. Try it on the floor first - lay both battens down, set the cord into the curve you want, and measure the gap before you drill anything.
Then one fixing per batten, at different heights. Every photograph sets one batten slightly lower than the other, which tilts the U and stops it reading as a symmetrical horseshoe. That asymmetry is most of what makes the shape work.
No weight is published, so use a proper hook or plug rather than an adhesive strip. Two short battens carrying this much cord are not heavy, but nobody has told us how heavy.
There is nothing to comb. Because both ends of every strand are fixed to a batten, the cord cannot fray and has no hem to drop. Straighten the bands by hand on arrival - run a finger down to keep the stripes parallel - and they stay put.

Picking a colorway
01, cream. Undyed throughout, no banding. It is the one that reads as pure shape - on a colored wall it becomes a white line drawn in the air, which is the cleanest version of this design and the one we shoot against green.
02, olive and cream. Two-tone, quiet. The green and cream bands are close enough in value that from a distance you read the curve first and the stripes second.
03, brown, tan and cream. Three warm bands, the most traditional of the five. Good against a teal or a deep blue wall, which is exactly where we put it.
04, navy, teal and blue. The highest contrast of the five, and the only cool-toned one. It holds a pale wall on its own.
05, purple and lilac. The outlier. Two violets against cream - a genuinely unusual color for this category and the one to pick if the point is that nobody else has it.

Where this actually earns its place
Above a sideboard or a low console, which is where the proportion belongs. A 100 cm drop needs clear wall beneath it, and a piece with no bottom edge - the curve simply turns and goes back up - sits over a horizontal surface without the hard line a framed piece would add.
Second, a large blank wall in a living room where a gallery arrangement would be too busy. One curve, two fixings, and 125 cm of wall solved. As boho wall decor it is at the graphic end rather than the textural one.
Third, a stairwell or a double-height wall, seen from below and from an angle. The U shape reads from any direction, unlike a flat panel that only works face on - and because the battens are separate you can tilt the whole composition to follow a staircase line.
Honest limits
- The 200 cm figure is not a width. It is the cord's path around the curve, and two of the five option images show only that number. Measure your wall against 40 cm battens and a 100 cm drop instead.
- Good if you want control; awkward if you wanted a fixed number.
- No weight figure exists for any of the five options.
- The option names are bare numbers. 01 through 05 tell you nothing about the color. The list above is the only place they are named.
- What the photographs show is parallel bands of cord running between two battens.
- No care instructions. Dust only.
Before you buy
How big is it?
Each of the two battens is 40 cm / 15.7 in wide and the curve drops 100 cm / 39.3 in. Hung at the spacing we photograph, the whole piece takes about 100 to 110 cm of width - so allow roughly 125 x 130 cm of wall.
What does the 200 cm on the drawing mean?
It is the length of the cord's path around the U, traced with a dashed line, not a width or a wall measurement. Two of the five option images show only that figure; the other three carry the real dimensions, 40 cm per batten and a 100 cm drop.
How far apart do the two battens go?
That is your decision - they are separate pieces and the cord is what joins them. Closer together gives a narrow, deep curve; further apart flattens it into an arc. Our photographs sit around 20 to 30 cm apart. Lay it out on the floor and measure the gap before drilling.
Should the two battens be level?
No. Every photograph sets one slightly lower than the other, which tilts the U and stops it reading as a symmetrical horseshoe. The asymmetry is most of what makes the shape work.
What color is each number?
01 cream, 02 olive and cream, 03 brown with tan and cream, 04 navy with teal and blue, 05 purple and lilac with cream. The option values are bare numbers and do not say.
Does the cord fray at the bottom?
There is no bottom edge to fray. Every strand starts on one batten, runs around the curve and finishes on the other, so both ends are fixed. Nothing to comb, nothing to hem, no creases to drop.
