The three options are not three colors. One of them has two fewer leaves

The picker says Macrame M0411, Macrame M0410 and Macrame M0188. Two of those are five-leaf hangings on a 40 cm dowel. The third is a three-leaf hanging on a 45 cm dowel, hung at completely different drops, and it weighs more. Nothing in the option names tells you that.

What they share: a bare wooden dowel with a cord hanger, and combed macrame leaves suspended from it on short cords at staggered lengths. Each leaf is knotted around a central spine and then brushed out at the edges, which is what makes the shape read as a feather rather than a flat shape. That is a macrame leaf wall hanging in the strict sense - knotted, then combed.

They are small. The largest is 45 cm across; the five-leaf versions are 40 cm wide and drop 33 cm at most.

How to hang it

One pin. The cord is already tied into a triangle across the dowel ends, the whole thing weighs less than a small mug, and a single drawing pin or picture hook takes it. Nothing to drill.

Measure from the nail, not from the dowel. The cord triangle adds 20-25 cm above the bar, so the nail sits that much higher than the piece itself. On the five-leaf versions allow about 55-58 cm of clear wall below the nail; on M0188 allow around 80 cm, because its longest leaf drops 58 cm on its own.

Ruffle the leaves when it arrives. They are packed flat and the combed edges compress against the spine - run your fingers outward from the centre of each leaf and the feathered shape opens up. It takes a minute and it is the difference between a flat shape and something with depth.

Because the leaves hang on individual cords, they turn. If it hangs somewhere with a draught - near a door, above a radiator - expect them to drift slightly, which is part of the appeal but also means they occasionally need straightening.

Picking an option

M0411 alternates tan and cream across its five leaves. It is the one with contrast, and the one that still reads from a few meters away - the tan leaves give the cluster a rhythm that an all-cream version does not have. Pick it against a white or pale wall.

M0410 is the same piece in cream throughout. Quieter, and better on a wall that already has color on it, or in a nursery where you want texture without a second tone. Same 40 cm dowel, same drops, same 122 g.

M0188 is the different one. Three cream leaves on a 45 cm dowel, dropping 45, 27 and 58 cm - so the arrangement is wide, uneven and much taller than the others. It suits a narrow vertical wall where the five-leaf versions would look squat, and it is the only one of the three that needs about 80 cm of clear wall.

Where this actually earns its place

Above a nightstand or a small shelf. At 40-45 cm wide this fits the wall beside a bed where a framed print would crowd the lamp, and the leaves move slightly in the room's air, which nothing framed does. That is the honest above bed wall decor case at this scale - beside the bed rather than over it.

Second, a nursery or a child's room. Light, soft, nothing breakable, no glass and no printed character to outgrow. As a small tapestry wall hanging it is also the least committal thing you can put on a rented wall: one pin, no mark.

Third, as an event piece. We list weddings, and it is a fair use - several of these along a backdrop, or one on the back of a chair, is a macrame wedding backdrop at a fraction of the cost of a full panel. Otherwise it is plain boho wall decor for the awkward narrow return that nothing else fits.

Honest limits

M0188 is a different object, not a different color. Three leaves instead of five, a wider dowel, drops up to 58 cm and 18 g more weight. If you are comparing the three on price alone you will get a surprise.
It is small. 40 to 45 cm wide. On a large empty wall one of these disappears. We photograph them beside mirrors, over nightstands and in corners for a reason.
The leaves turn. Each hangs on its own cord, so in a draught they drift and occasionally need straightening. Not a fault.
No care instructions and no wood species. Neither is published. Dust only.

How are the leaves made?

Cords are knotted along a central spine, then the cut ends are combed out either side and trimmed to a point. The combing is what gives the soft frond edge instead of a hard cut line.

The leaves arrived squashed, is that normal?

Yes. Combed fiber compresses in a flat pack. Hold each spine and comb the sides outwards with your fingers or a wide toothed comb, then hang it and leave it a day.

How do I clean it?

Dust it with a soft brush, working from the spine outwards. A low suction vacuum works too. Do not wash it: wet combed fiber mats together and does not re-comb well.

Do I need a hook?

Something to hang the cord triangle from, yes. None is supplied and no fixing method is published.
