Four codes, two designs, three sizes - and a 21 cm spread nobody mentions

The picker offers macrame D7938, macrame D7936, TK-M01837 and TK-M01648. The first two are the same design in two colors, 75 cm long. The third is a different design at 76.5 cm. The fourth is that same design again at 96 cm - twenty-one centimeters longer than where the list starts, and dearer for it.

Both designs hang from a light wooden dowel on a cord triangle, and both use the same combed macrame leaves: a knotted spine brushed out flat and trimmed to a leaf point, in sage green, chestnut brown and undyed cream.

What separates them is what sits between the dowel and the leaves. The D79xx pair is plain - cords drop straight from the dowel and each ends in a leaf. The TK pair adds a knotted swag: a braided rope curves across the piece just below the dowel, and the cords below it run on past the leaves into a long beaded fringe. That is why they are longer, and why they cost more.

What you get

  • One hanging, in the code you pick. Each ships alone.
  • A light wooden dowel with the hanging cord already tied into a triangle at both ends.
  • Combed macrame leaves - a knotted spine with the cut ends brushed out and trimmed. Nine on the plain designs, seven on the swag designs.
  • Pale wooden beads threaded on the cords. The swag designs carry many more of them, running down the fringe as well.
  • A knotted rope swag on the TK codes only.
  • No fixings. None included.

Dimensions, by code

Each design has its own diagram, and all three are below. The heights are measured from the dowel, not from the nail.

macrame D7938 · sage green, plain 39.5 cm / 15.55 in wide, 75 cm / 29.52 in long. Nine leaves in sage and cream.
macrame D7936 · brown, plain Same design and size - 39.5 x 75 cm - in chestnut, tan and cream.
TK-M01837 · brown, with swag 40 cm / 15.74 in wide, 76.5 cm / 30.11 in long. Knotted swag, seven leaves, beaded fringe below.
TK-M01648 · green, with swag 40 cm / 15.74 in wide, 96 cm / 37.79 in long. The longest option by 19.5 cm, and the only one over 90 cm.
Add for the hanging cord The triangle above the dowel adds roughly 15-20 cm, scaled off the photographs. So allow about 90-95 cm from the nail on the plain designs and up to 115 cm on TK-M01648.
Wall needed About 50 cm wide by 105 cm tall for the plain designs, or 50 x 125 cm for TK-M01648

All three sizes with our own dimensions

How to hang it

One fixing. The cord triangle is already tied across the dowel ends, so a single hook or nail takes it - no weight is published, but these are cord, beads and a light dowel, and a picture hook is enough.

Measure from the nail, not the dowel. All three published heights start at the dowel, and the cord triangle adds another 15 to 20 cm above it. On TK-M01648 that means allowing around 115 cm of clear wall below the fixing - noticeably more than the 96 cm on the diagram suggests.

Open the leaves and separate the fringe. Everything arrives pressed flat. Fan each leaf outward from its knotted spine, then run your fingers down through the fringe cords on the TK designs so the beads sit at their intended heights. It takes a couple of minutes and it is the difference between a flat shape and a piece with depth.

Hang the swag designs higher than you think. Their lower half is fringe rather than leaves, and it needs clear wall below it - over a bed or a console, the leaves should sit at eye level and the fringe should fall into empty space.

Picking a code

D7938, sage green, 75 cm. The plain design in greens and cream. It is the quietest of the four and the one that suits a wall that already has color on it. Nine leaves, no fringe, nothing below them.

D7936, brown, 75 cm. The same piece in chestnut, tan and cream - warmer, higher contrast against a white wall, and the better choice in a room with timber or leather in it.

TK-M01837, brown, 76.5 cm. Barely longer than the plain designs but a different object: a knotted rope swag across the top and a beaded fringe running past the leaves. It reads as considerably more elaborate for a centimeter and a half.

TK-M01648, green, 96 cm. The same swag design in sage, and the only option that genuinely fills a tall wall. If you are hanging this over a bed or in a stairwell, it is the one - and the extra 19.5 cm is what the price difference buys.

Where this actually earns its place

Above a bed, which is what the title says and what the proportion supports - but only as a pair or a group. At 40 cm wide one of these is a narrow accent, not a headboard-width piece. Two hung either side of centre, or three staggered, is how wall art above bed at this scale actually works.

Second, the narrow leftovers: beside a doorway, between two windows, on a stairwell return. The plain designs at 39.5 cm wide are built for exactly the strip that defeats framed art.

Third, a nursery or a child's room - which we suggest, and which is worth thinking about. There is no flame rating, no small-parts statement and no age guidance anywhere in its data, and the TK designs carry loose beaded cord. As boho wall decor in an adult room none of that matters; over a crib it might.

Honest limits

  • The four codes are two designs at three sizes. D7938 and D7936 are the same object in two colors; TK-M01837 and TK-M01648 are a different object at two lengths, 19.5 cm apart. Nothing in the picker says so.
  • The heights start at the dowel. Add 15 to 20 cm for the cord triangle before you measure your wall - on TK-M01648 that is the difference between 96 cm and about 115.
  • We suggest hanging it over a baby crib. There is no flame rating, no small-parts warning and no age guidance in any of its fields, and the TK designs have loose beaded cord on them. We repeat the suggestion as our and would not make it ourselves.
  • No weight is published for any of the four.
  • The leaves are knotted and combed; the swag is a braided rope.
  • No care instructions. Dust and comb only.
  • No piece count is published.

Before you buy

What is the difference between the four codes?

D7938 and D7936 are the same plain design - nine leaves on straight cords, 39.5 x 75 cm - in green and in brown. TK-M01837 and TK-M01648 are a different design with a knotted rope swag and a beaded fringe below the leaves, at 40 x 76.5 cm in brown and 40 x 96 cm in green.

Which is the longest?

TK-M01648 at 96 cm, which is 19.5 cm longer than the next one down and the only option over 90 cm. If you need a piece that fills height, that is the one.

How much wall do I need?

About 50 cm wide by 105 cm tall for the plain designs, or 50 by 125 cm for TK-M01648. Those allow for the hanging cord above the dowel, which the published heights do not include.

Can I hang it over a crib?

We suggest it. We would not say the same: nothing in its data gives a flame rating, a small-parts statement or any age guidance, and the swag designs carry loose beaded cord. In an adult room that is irrelevant; above a crib it is a decision for you rather than for a listing.

Is it really cotton?

100% cotton. That is a declaration rather than a test result.

How many leaves are there?

No piece count is published anywhere, so treat those as counts rather than guarantees.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about the materials, care and everyday use — no fine print.

what do you put above a console table?

The four options are not four colors. Two are a 75 cm row of leaves and two are a 76 to 96 cm piece with a swag and a long fringe, and TK-M01648 is nearly a third longer than the plain versions.

Good housewarming gift under 50 dollars?

It arrives flat or rolled and needs one hook, so it is a gift that does not ask the recipient to assemble anything. There is a choice of option to make, so check what they would pick.

What to hang above a sofa in a small apartment?

It is photographed in a living room above a sofa or console and in a bedroom above a headboard. The plain leaf version is 75 cm / 29.52 in long by 39.5 cm / 15.55 in wide; TK-M01837 is 76.5 cm / 30.11 in by 40 cm / 15.74 in; TK-M01648 is 96 cm / 37.79 in by 40 cm / 15.74 in.

Boho wedding backdrop ideas on a budget?

It hangs from a single cord loop, so it works on a backdrop frame or a hired stand as easily as on a wall. The plain leaf version is 75 cm / 29.52 in long by 39.5 cm / 15.55 in wide; TK-M01837 is 76.5 cm / 30.11 in by 40 cm / 15.74 in; TK-M01648 is 96 cm / 37.79 in by 40 cm / 15.74 in. It is photographed in a bedroom above a headboard.

Does macrame collect a lot of dust?

Dust with a soft brush or a vacuum on its lowest setting.

Can you wash macrame in the washing machine?

Dust it with a soft brush or a vacuum on its lowest setting, working downward with the cord. Two are a 75 cm row of leaves and two are a 76 to 96 cm piece with a swag and a long fringe, and TK-M01648 is nearly a third longer than the plain versions.

Which option is the most neutral?

The cream or undyed option where there is one. The full list is: macrame D7938: sage green and cream leaves; macrame D7936: tan brown and cream leaves; TK-M01837: rust and cream leaves with a rust swag and long fringe; TK-M01648: green and cream leaves with a green swag and long fringe. It is photographed in a bedroom above a headboard.

Why is no size listed?

Rather than estimate one, this page describes the proportion against the furniture it is photographed with.

Is there anything about this piece I should know first?

The four options are two different designs at three different lengths and nothing in the picker says so.

What is the wood?

A stained panel or dowel. Two are a 75 cm row of leaves and two are a 76 to 96 cm piece with a swag and a long fringe, and TK-M01648 is nearly a third longer than the plain versions.

Will it shed?

Cut cord ends shed a little at first and settle after a week or two. Vacuum the floor under it once and it stops being noticeable.

Will it work in a rental?

Yes, if you hang it on an adhesive hook rather than a nail. It has one hanging point, so there is only one mark to avoid making. The options are macrame D7938: sage green and cream leaves; macrame D7936: tan brown and cream leaves; TK-M01837: rust and cream leaves with a rust swag and long fringe.

Is the price for one piece?

Check the option name before ordering. Where an option names a set or a pair, that is what ships; where it does not, treat it as a single piece. It is photographed in a living room above a sofa or console.

How far from the ceiling should I hang it?

Hang the top edge at eye level or a little above, then step back. On a piece that drops, the bottom edge matters more than the top: leave a hand's width between it and whatever sits underneath. It is photographed in a bedroom above a headboard.

What happens if it gets damp?

Cord holds damp and dries slowly. Keep it off a bathroom wall and away from a kettle or a shower door.

How is this different from a printed tapestry?

A printed tapestry is one flat piece of fabric with an image on it. This is built from cord and wood, so it has real depth and casts its own shadow. The four options are two different designs at three different lengths and nothing in the picker says so.

Will it suit a small room?

Read the proportion in the lifestyle photographs rather than the word in the title. A piece that fills a headboard in a large bedroom will crowd a small one. Two are a 75 cm row of leaves and two are a 76 to 96 cm piece with a swag and a long fringe, and TK-M01648 is nearly a third longer than the plain versions.

Is the color dyed all the way through?

The cord is dyed rather than printed, so the color runs through the strand. No light fastness figure is published, so treat strong sun as a risk.

Is it safe over a radiator?

Keep it off a wall directly above a radiator or a heater.
