Item details Materials, dimensions, what is in the box

Lightweight fusible interfacing fabric in polyester adds an iron-on backing to clothing, purses, curtains, and craft projects. Each piece measures approximately 39 x 59 inches (100 x 150 cm), with black or white options and three styles to suit different fabrics.

Choose 30D lightweight interfacing for silk chiffon and thin summer fabrics, or 50D for medium-thickness fabrics used in light coats and spring or autumn sweaters. The 75D medium weight fusible interfacing suits thicker fabrics, including suiting, cashmere coat fabrics, and woolen cloth, as well as DIY crafts. This interfacing for sewing has an adhesive side that bonds to the back of your fabric when heated.

Place the glue side against the wrong side of your fabric, then press with a hot iron at the temperature for your chosen style. Heat melts the adhesive to attach the interfacing material. Press for 12–14 seconds without steam. Each piece is hand-cut, so raw edges and a size variation of 1–2 cm may occur.

What problem does it solve?

This solves a sewing hassle rather than a kitchen mess: attaching a backing to fabric for clothing, purses, curtains, or crafts. The adhesive bonds with heat, letting you apply the interfacing cloth with a hot iron instead of sewing it in place.

With fusible interfacing for sewing, you can choose a weight suited to your project, from thin summer fabrics to thicker coat materials. Black fusible interfacing and white options give you a color choice, too.

The problem in numbers

  • The United States generated 17 million US tons of textile waste in municipal solid waste in 2018. (U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Textiles: Material-Specific Data, 2018)
  • Landfills received 11.3 million US tons of textiles in 2018. (U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Textiles: Material-Specific Data, 2018)
  • Only 14.7% of textiles in US municipal solid waste were recycled in 2018. (U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Textiles: Material-Specific Data, 2018)

These figures highlight the broader challenge of textile waste and the value of finding further uses for fabric. Our fusible interfacing adds an iron-on backing to clothing, purses, curtains and craft projects, making it a practical material for sewing and creative reuse.

Why choose this one?

Choose this polyester fabric interfacing material for its practical range of weights and colors. You get one approximately 39 x 59-inch piece, with six combinations covering black or white in 30D, 50D, and 75D styles.

For fusible interfacing for clothing, the choices serve different fabrics: 30D for silk chiffon and thin summer materials, 50D for medium-thickness garments, and 75D medium weight interfacing for thicker coat fabrics. That gives you specific options for the fabric you’re working with, rather than one weight for every project.

What exactly do you get?

Your package contains one polyester iron-on interlining piece measuring approximately 39 x 59 inches (100 x 150 cm), in your selected color and style. Choose white or black interfacing in 30D, 50D, or 75D. The 30D and 50D options are light fusible interfacing; 75D is medium weight.

The piece is applied glue-side down against the back of your project fabric and bonded with a hot iron without steam. Each piece is trimmed by hand, so it may have raw edges and a 1–2 cm size variation.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about the materials, care and everyday use — no fine print.

What can I use this iron-on interlining for?

This fusible interfacing is intended for crafts, clothing, purses, and curtains. Choose your interfacing for sewing to match your main fabric: 30D for thin fabrics, 50D for medium-thickness fabrics, and 75D for thicker fabrics or DIY crafts.

How big is the fabric piece?

Each piece of interfacing fabric measures approximately 100 × 150 cm, or 39 × 59 inches. The fabric is hand-cut, so the dimensions may vary by 1–2 cm and the edges may be raw.

What material is this interfacing made from?

This interfacing material is polyester, with a glue side that bonds to fabric when heated. Choose the 30D, 50D, or 75D grade to match the thickness of the fabric you are working with.

What is the difference between the 30D, 50D, and 75D options?

The 30D and 50D options are lightweight fusible interfacing, while 75D is medium weight fusible interfacing. Choose 30D for silk chiffon and thin summer fabrics, 50D for medium-thickness fabrics, and 75D for thicker coat fabrics, woolen cloth, and DIY projects.

How do I attach it to my fabric?

Place the glue side of the fusible interfacing against the wrong side of your main fabric, then press with a hot iron at the temperature for your chosen grade. Press for 12–14 seconds. Test on a scrap first to check how your fabric responds to the heat and adhesive.

Which iron temperature should I use?

Use 120–140°C for 30D, 130–140°C for 50D, and 135–145°C for 75D fusible interfacing fabric. Press each grade for 12–14 seconds. Check that your main fabric can tolerate the required temperature before applying it.

Can I use steam when applying it?

No, apply this fusible interfacing without steam. Use a hot iron with steam switched off and follow the temperature range for the grade you select.

Which side should face my main fabric?

Place the glue side of the fusible interfacing against the wrong side of your main fabric. Pressing with heat melts the adhesive so the interlining bonds to the back of the fabric.

How should I check it before using it in a washable project?

Bond a small sample of this interfacing fabric to your main fabric, then test it using the care method you plan to use for the finished item. Check the sample after cleaning before committing to the full project.

Can I use it for purses and bags?

Yes, this fusible interfacing can be used for purse-making projects. Choose your interfacing for bags to suit the main fabric, and test a small bonded piece before cutting the full project.

What comes in the package?

You receive one piece of iron-on interlining fabric in your selected color and grade. Each piece of fusible interfacing measures approximately 100 × 150 cm.

Which colors can I choose?

You can choose black or white in each of the 30D, 50D, and 75D grades. Choose the color of your fusible interfacing with your main fabric in mind, particularly if that fabric is thin enough for the backing to show through.

How is this different from sew-in interfacing?

This fusible interfacing attaches with heat that melts its adhesive, rather than relying on stitching to attach the backing. If your main fabric cannot tolerate the required pressing temperature, consider non fusible interfacing instead. Test a scrap before choosing this iron-on option for a heat-sensitive project.

Would this be a useful gift for someone who sews?

Yes, it could be a practical gift for someone who uses fusible interfacing for clothing or crafts. Choose the grade to match their usual projects, such as 30D for thin fabrics or 75D for thicker fabrics and DIY work.
